Today our group visited NPR which was a bit out of my scope as an agricultural engineer. After NPR we had some time to explore the mall area on our own. Being fairly exhausted from the 6am start I found a shaded park bench and popped a squat. I was sitting near a memorial to a Chinese figure which appeared to be a bustling city center for all the local squirrels. I sat for about an hour watching the city wildlife and the people. It is fairly interesting to observe how people act and make inferences about their occupations, personalities, and personal lives. As I sat on my park bench I observed school groups of giddy middle schoolers who did not realize that they were walking around in a city which leads the free world, they played with each other and screamed. I also saw the suit type walking briskly staring into the cell phone, it makes me wonder if they are really important or do they have a self appointed importance. The park bench was a nice relaxing way to spend a hot afternoon.
